"Welcome to the (other) Fantasy Zone!"

Dreamcast Wood Grain Controller
'Yujin Shooting Game Historica 2 Opa-Opa' figure upon the classic SMS trilogy.

Join Opa-Opa on his epic adventures in Fantasy Zone, Fantasy Zone II, and Fantasy Zone: The Maze! 💫 Which game from this classic SMS trilogy was your favorite?

*Bonus Stage: Being an early unofficial mascot for Sega in the 80's before Alex Kidd and Sonic, Opa-Opa has since had cameos in many other Sega properties.

One of the most notable appearances was in the 1980's Tatsunoko anime series 赤い光弾 ジリオン(Akai Koudan Zillion; seen above), which was based on a Lazer-Tag style toy produced by Sega of Japan. Along with the animation series, two Zillion games were developed by Sega for the Master System / Sega Mark III that featured Opa-Opa; Zillion and Zillion II: The Tri-Formation.

Stay-tuned for a future post here on Coins 'n Consoles looking at the various Opa-Opa cameos through the AGES!
